Walk Sydney Streets - Alan Waddell

Long before the 52 Suburbs blog started or even gained popularity a man was walking Sydney streets and documenting his adventure, starting in 2002 Alan Waddell would choose a suburb and Walk the streets for a few hours at a time.

Whenever I'm longing to see Sydney, not just the glamorous beautiful parts I go to the website
http://www.walksydneystreets.net/index.htm
which is now dedicated to Alan who past away in 2008.

Its a great reminder how the city is in reality, with its sprawling suburbs, tree lined streets and interesting finds just around the corner. I love the humour in some of the photos with Alan starring in most of them.

To see my girl and go for a drive

Dog, Panelvan and the coast-
Back in Sydney for a short visit, catching up with family, friends and a little work meant I got to reconnect with my dog and car... managing to do both at the same time.
My dog loves riding in the front seat and and once she's there its pretty hard not to just let her be and go for a drive..
I love the headland at Clovelly (one of my favourite snorkeling spots)  I hadn't been there in  a while and even though it was a rainy November day I wanted a sea breeze and ocean horizon fix regardless of the weather....

Popular Mechanics - Troubleshoot a Tire-Pressure Monitoring System

Second story for Popular Mechanics Magazine, working with Michelle Ervin again was great and nice to ride back into Manhattan in a new 2010 Camaro.
Loved working with Mike Allen, hopefully we'll all work together again in the coming months.
A section of the article is below just mainly the images.
Please buy the magazine or go to the website.

Arrive in Sydney.

My Dad's in hospital, he had a detached retina occur just a day before i was flying out of New York, my parents decided not to tell me so I didn't worry the whole flight back home. The main purpose of me coming back to Sydney is to go to my younger brother Ben's wedding in Lennox Head (almost 800 kms away). With Dad possibly not able to make it as he can't drive or fly due to the fluid and air bubble that has been pumped into his eye my Mum works out that they can get a train.
We were all really happy that Dad could make it, while we were there he celebrated his birthday.

Volvo 142

A Volvo 142 S, no less !!
Back in November I mentioned the Volvo 122 I saw in Carroll Gardens, here's a couple o' pictures of a 142 Sport I spotted in Williamsburg.
The 142 (the coupe or 2 door version of the 144) was almost the first car I ever owned. I can't remember the specifics of the car I nearly bought, other than it was dark blue and already had an almost new radio/cassette deck and 4 speakers installed...
